Presbyterian Multicultural Network Seminary Action Team

As we begin, our tasks are to...

-COLLABORATE with each other via email/facebook/blog/conference call about strategies for reaching out into your seminary communities

-DESIGNATE at least 3 people on your seminary campus who you would like to have a one on one conversation with to help you take an inventory of what is going on on your seminary campus with multicultural education, policies, training, philosophy, etc. These people can be administrators (how about your seminary President?? think big!!), professors, fellow students, etc.

-COMMUNICATE with at least 2 of your designated one on one people face to face. You may want to develop a set of questions/areas of conversation that you all use in your conversation.

-EVALUATE your seminaries' course offerings from last year and this coming semester. Are there courses that teach from a multicultural understanding? Inventory other aspects of seminary life on your campus and take note of any areas in which multicultural ministry is supported/happening (student groups, worship services, seminary policies, etc.)

-RUMINATE ;-) or think about how what kind of support you can use from the PMN Board.

  2. This is a wonderful tool for you all and for the PMN Board to hear more about what you all are doing.
Just for clarity sake remember that you are in partnership with the Presbyterian Multicultural Network (PMN) who works in concert with the Office of Multicultural Ministries Support which is in the Racial/Ethnic and Women's Ministry Division of the OGA. All that is to say that you are a part of the PMN. So you might want to change the MCN part in your wording up top to PMN just so we're all on the same page. There are so many groups in the PCUSA and we love to use our abbreviations. For all I know there is another one out there that is MCN!!:)
Thank you again for doing this. It looks great!
